William Flanagan Memorial Creative Persons Center

Maintained by the Edward F. Albee Foundation, this Winter/Spring residency serves writers and visual artists from all walks of life by providing a secluded, peaceful environment ("The Barn") to work without disturbance. The ADA-accessible space accommodates up to four creative persons at a time in a simple, communal setting. There is no fee of any kind. From application through residency, there is no cost imposed on the artist.

Selection is based entirely on talent and need. Applicants must provide an up-to-date resume, contact information for two professional references, an artist statement outlining the need for the residency, a project description, and a work sample.

Writers and visual artists are offered individual en-suite bedrooms and separate working studios. Domestic residents are provided with a $2,500 stipend, while foreign residents are reimbursed for verified expenses up to $2,500.

A Live Portrait Competition


The Depot Arts District and Notta Gallery are proud to present the inaugural Florida Art Masters, a live portrait painting competition celebrating artistic skill, creativity, and the excitement of creating from life.


Sixteen artists from across Florida will be selected to compete in four live preliminary heats, each featuring a live portrait model. During ethe four-hour competition, artists will paint or sculpt from observation while spectators watch the creative process unfold. A panel of three judges will provide feedback and select one artist from each heat to advance to the Grand Finale, where one artist will be crowned the first Florida Art Master.


Whether your work is traditional, contemporary, expressive, or abstract, we encourage artists working in any non-digital medium to apply.

25th Dobell Drawing Prize

The Dobell Drawing Prize is Australia’s leading prize for drawing, and an unparalleled celebration of technique, innovation and expanded practice. Presented at the National Art School in partnership with the Sir William Dobell Art Foundation, this biennial exhibition continues to highlight the enduring relevance and changing role of drawing within contemporary art practice. The winner will receive a $30,000 acquisitive prize, with the winning work entering the National Art School significant collection, built over the past 120 years. The judges will individually review each digital entry before convening as a panel in November 2026 to select approximately 50 finalists. The winner will be selected by the panel of judges from the finalists’ exhibition at the National Art School Gallery in April 2027.

Hambidge Residencies (Spring Session)

"The Hambidge Center is situated on 600 forested acres in the mountains of north Georgia and offers miles of nature trails, meadows, waterfalls, a swimming hole and an abundance of wildflowers.

The oldest residency program in the Southeast, Hambidge provides a self-directed program that honors the creative process and trusts individuals to know what they need to cultivate their talent, whether it’s to work and produce, to think, to experiment or to rejuvenate. Residents’ time is their own; there are no workshops, critiques, nor required activities.

Each resident is given their own private studio which provides work and living space with a bathroom and full kitchen. The studios are designed to protect residents’ time, space and solitude.

Resident groups are intentionally kept small enough (8-10 people) to gather around the dinner table each evening, Tuesday through Friday, for delicious vegetarian meals prepared by our chef. These communal meals are an essential part of the Hambidge residency experience. Serious topics are discussed (and light-hearted ones, too), experiences are shared, and encouragement is given. Many a collaboration and life-long friendship have begun at the Hambidge dinner table."

Queering Wood Craft

“Queer” is used today as both a descriptor of identity and a verb conjuring subversion. Both represent a challenge, whether to normative structures or conventional intimacies. This exhibition, with a working title, Queering Wood Craft, will highlight the work of queer-identified makers working in wood, and be both exploration and celebration of the dynamic intersections between contemporary work in wood and the multiple meanings of queer. Artist participants will explore the history of this craft through a queer lens, making one visible to themselves and rendering a more complex understanding of queer lives, labor, and communal and familial relationships. Integral to humanity’s experience for centuries and across continents, woodworking has an essential role that is distinct and multifaceted. They invite artists and makers who work in wood—building furniture, turning, carving, or otherwise using wood as the primary material in their work—to submit their work for consideration. The exhibition will take place at the Museum for Art in Wood from late May-late July 2027.

Point Pleasant Publishing proudly presents Crowns of Princeton, an experimental arts festival at The Solley Theatre at the Paul Robeson Center for the Arts in beautiful Princeton, New Jersey. Princeton is an affluent city and home to the world's leading academic institution, Princeton University.

The arts festival is open to all artists internationally working in any form of artistic practice, including performance and moving-image. This one-day arts festival will be promoted on EventBrite, ArtRabbit, LinkedIn, the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and will take place on Saturday, February 20th, 2027 from 11am-4pm.

Additionally, there will be a detailed and comprehensive published catalogue documenting the Princeton Arts Festival, available in both print and digital. The extensive exhibition catalogue will contain human-authored curatorial statements / essays, thorough professional photography, and internationally registered with an ISBN. Participating artists will be given a free PDF copy of the exhibition catalogue for Crowns of Princeton. The catalogue will be available in both linen wrap hardcover and perfect bound paperback.

Located in Downtown and just one block from Princeton University, The Solley Theatre at the Paul Robeson Center for the Arts will host Crowns of Princeton, an experimental arts festival by Point Pleasant Publishing. Crowns of Princeton is focused on surveying the status of experimental art as opposed to a fixed, generalized theme. Due to the unconventional nature of the show being held in a theatre with large windows, spanning one day, and incorporating moving-image, performance, and 2-D / 3-D visual art, Crowns of Princeton is more similar to an arts festival rather than a standard exhibition.

Queensland Regional Art Awards 2026

The Queensland Regional Art Awards (QRAA) are Flying Arts’ annual visual arts awards, open to artists living in regional, rural and remote Queensland. Established in 2011, the QRAA offers Australia’s largest regional art awards prize pool. This year’s total prize pool of $326,800 spans cash prizes, solo exhibitions, artist residencies and professional development opportunities across seven categories: the Queensland Regional Art Awards Overall Winner, The Mervyn Moriarty Landscape Award, First Nations Artist Award, Remote Artist Award, Emerging Artist Award, Young Artist Award, and People’s Choice Awards for adult and young artists. The Best of Polk 2026

Lakeland Arts Association

The Best of Polk Show is a juried visual art exhibition created by the Polk Arts & Cultural Alliance to showcase top 2D and 3D artistic talent from across Polk County, Florida.

Launched in 2024 to spotlight the finest visual artists in our community, this year's Best of Polk exhibit opens at the Polk Arts & Culture Hall of Fame Gala in Haines City with $3,000 in prizes - including a $1,500 Best In Show award! Curated through a competitive online jury process, the exhibit celebrates exceptional talent right here in Polk County.

Artist Call is open to artists 18 and older, who live part-time (6 months or more) or full-time in Polk County, Florida.

The show will open at the Polk Arts & Cultural Alliance Gala on October 6, 2026. After the Gala, the show moves to the Depot Arts District, where it will be on display through December 6, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria:

Point Pleasant Publishing accepts alternative and experimental forms of visual art including photography, performance, moving-image (video / film), installation, fiber / textiles, assemblage, collage, jewelry, light design, printmaking, fashion / costume design, text-based fragments, and analogue digital (no AI). ​

Artists are selected based on a variety of factors including originality, conceptual impact, overall cohesiveness of portfolio, and aesthetic qualities of the art. ​We especially encourage alternative / experimental and underrepresented artists to apply.

Center for Performance Research AiR

CPR – Center for Performance Research’s year-long Artist-in-Residence (AiR) Program seeks to support NYC-based artists working within various perspectives of contemporary dance, performance, and time-based art. In selecting its AiRs, CPR values experimental approaches to content, form, and aesthetic, and encourages risk-taking, interdisciplinarity, and the unexpected. The Queens Museum (QM) is pleased to launch its eighth iteration of the QM-Jerome Foundation Fellowship for Emerging Artists in New York City.
